I want to buy a new cricket bat that fit my needs – which one should I choose?
I have been wanting a new cricket bat lately as my old bat seems to be dead. Despite doing loads of research, I am still unsure about what I should choose.
All I require is a bat that has a really nice middle and has a light pick-up/is light.
And so the 3 bats I am unsure about buying are:
Gray Nicolls Nitro
GM Catalyst (If there is a better Gm, please tell me)
Kookaburra Kahuna – Mayhem (Also tell me if there is a better Kookaburra Kahuna out there or any other Kookaburra for that matter)
P.S. Please do not recommend the Kookaburra Kahuna Ricky Ponting as that is way too expensive and certainly out of my price range.
In addition, I would appreciate if you would not recommend Indian, Sri Lankan or Pakistani bats – in fact, Asian bats on the whole – as I have no intention of buying them.
If there are any other bats that are light and go better than the 3 that I have mentioned, please list them as that would help me a great deal in my search.
Woodworm bats aren’t too shoddy. KP does quite a bit of good with them… although I don’t know whether one could consider it “light”. Kookaburra Kahunas are really nice bats, but my impression was that they were a bit on the hefty side. No matter. Out of the three you mentioned, I would go with the Catalyst. Haven’t played with that exact bat, but I’ve owned a GM bat before and it’s an excellent bat.
