Heart Of The Hide Baseball Glove
Baseball Glove Question. NEED HELP PLEASE?

I bought glove oil for my rawlings heart of the hide and i need to know the right amount of oil i should put on it. I dont want to over do it and mess it up. PLEASE HELP

Buddy pleaz!!! do not listen to these other guys. About soaking it in water and whatever the other guy said to use. I dont care if you put it under your bed, thats fine, but that wont break it in the best, just playing catch works.
But to answer your question just take little bit of oil, put it on a rag, and rub it in all over glove. just a little bit though to each part of glove dont over lubricate, and if its heart of the hide, thats a very nice glove, it should have the mesh part to it, if it doesnt then nevermind but. DONT OIL THE MESH! THen sit your glove on a newspaper, and let it sit overnight. Just so you understand, the oil may make the glove look darker in color or maybe stain it a bit, thats ok though its not a fashion show, and that will help protect your glove for the future. No one else really answered your question, they just told you how to break it in. But so you know putting on oil and breaking in a glove are two different things. Oil doesnt break in your glove, it is just put on it to preserve the leather help it to laste longer, and avoid cracks in your glove, as years go on. TO break it in, just play catch, and squeeze it, that will help it to adapt to your Hand, and the oil will help with that part adapting to a ball pocket, and your hand. and PLEEZ DONT SOAK IT IN WATER, OR PUT IT IN AN OVEN THATS HOW GLOVES GET RUINED , its a glove not a poptart!
